The kids had fun finding a partner and determining how tall they were in turkeys.

Then they practiced writing the number and how they thought turkey was spelled. Most of them got at least the T, some also had R and K. This is very appropriate for their stage of development, to hear the consonants in the words long before they recognize the vowel sounds. 
We made Indian corn, and Indian headdresses.
And connected the feathers and turkey's bodies when we matched the upper and lowercase to each letter.

We had a lesson in manners this week. We practiced passing the food around the table and saying no thank you if "Aunt Sally" doesn't know they don't like a particular food. Then we practiced setting the table, which is math (making sets), they just didn't know it.
We had PE this week, too. The kids got to go bowling!
