Snow and the Letter S

We had a great first week of the New Year! We welcomed Ms. Melanie to our classroom! She is going to be with us on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays the rest of the year. 

Just as a reminder, please send the kids to school with warm coats, hats, gloves, etc. because if at all possible we will try to take them outside. Also, please remember to make sure their school shoes stay on their feet well enough to run and play outside. The girls have been having trouble running out of their cute shoes on the playground and tennis shoes would solve that problem. 

We played games to work on rhyming words. We have been learning about word families and the ending sounds of words. 

 We did lots of snow art this week. 

 We played go fish with our snowmen and also matched the right number of snowflakes to the correct snowman. 

 We played games rolling the die and filling up our hot chocolate mugs with marshmallows. 

 We practiced recognizing our friends' names and placing them by their picture. 

 We sorted by colors and by shapes. 

 And we practiced our cutting skills.
