Pumpkins

We had a great time this week with pumpkins.

It was a busy week, too, with library, music, PE and a field trip all packed into four days!
On Monday we played pumpkin bingo.
Wednesday we practiced sorting by beginning letter (putting pictures on the correct pumpkin: F, L or T.)
The kids love it when they get to play with the rhythm sticks!
Pumpkin art got a little messy, but fun!
We measured pumpkins to see which string was too short, too long, or just right to fit around the middle.

We practiced discrimination by placing the correct face on each jack-o-lantern (and some of them are really similar!)
Next was the fun part of our pumpkin week. We estimated how many lines were on the outside, and how many seeds were on the inside of our pumpkin. After we scooped out his insides, we counted the seeds to see how close we were (yes, they really made me keep counting to 523!!) We also used our words to describe what the inside and outside felt like when we touched it.

We ended our week with PE, and Mrs. Carolyn worked with the kids on skipping, galloping, and jumping around the hoops.
